Luxury Brand Louis Vuitton Steps into Web3 Fashion
This week, the luxury brand Louis Vuitton made their entry into web3 fashion with the announcement of their “Via Treasure Trunk” NFT collection. This collection consists of a few hundred “soul-bound” NFTs, meaning they cannot be sold or transferred.
Holders of these NFTs will also receive a physical trunk, as well as access to ongoing key drops that unlock exclusive products and experiences.
Mercedes-Benz’s First NFT Drop
Mercedes-Benz carried out their first NFT drop through their NXT program, selling out 1,000 NFTs via a Dutch auction. The collection saw a temporary price pump on mint out, but currently sits under the mint price.
SAI Ordinals Joining Web3
In exciting news, it seems that three Japanese IPS are set to join web3 through Bitcoin, launching their very own ordinals collection.
Puma’s NFT Collaboration with Gutter Cats Gang and NBA Star Lamelo Ball
Puma is releasing a pair of sneakers in collaboration with Gutter Cats Gang and NBA star Lamelo Ball. The NFT sale will take place on June 29th, with holders able to redeem a physical pair of shoes and an additional digital collectible.
Superman Web 3 Movie Experience Minting
The Superman web 3 movie experience began minting on June 9th, offering buyers the choice between a 30 or 100 edition.
The Enchanted Crossroads – Overworld Play
The SEC Sues Binance and Coinbase
In crypto news, the SEC is suing both Binance and Coinbase, and attempting to freeze the assets of Binance US. Both companies have come out to say they will fight this.
Atomic Wallet Hack and Xverse Wallet Bug
Security alerts this week included a hack in the Atomic Wallet, which resulted in the loss of up to 35 million dollars, and a bug found in the popular Bitcoin wallet, Xverse.
Apple and Meta Announce VR Headsets
In product news, both Apple and Meta announced their entry into the metaverse with the Vision Pro headset and the Metaquest 3, respectively.
Yuga Labs Garage & Forge Launch
Yuga Labs opened up their garage on the Heavy Metal website, allowing users to connect their wallet and view their Heavy Metal NFTs.
Gamestop x Illuvium Collaboration
Eluvium partnered with GameStop for a 20K supply of a disc NFT, which will contain a GameStop-branded aluvatar.
Fundraising News
In fundraising news, several gaming platforms raised funds this week, including Hyperplay, Argus, and Lens. Trading League also raised 3.5 million dollars for their app that gamifies trading, and Dew Drops raised 1.5 million in a seed round to continue building an art platform that allows users to purchase digital art via text message.
